Reviews of the best beginner electric guitars
I received my Gibson ES 175 as a gift three years ago. I had owned and played many guitars – dozens – up to that time, but I don’t think I ever fell in love so quickly with an instrument.
To my eyes, it recalls generations of the finest jazz musicians to hold a guitar. In my hands, it feels solid, stalwart. Like it has something to say. And to my ears, it produces some of the most remarkably beautiful sounds I have ever heard.
With holiday season right around the corner, now might be a good time to consider that new electric guitar you’ve been waiting to get as the perfect gift, even if it is to yourself.
Of course there are a number of things to consider when you are purchasing a new guitar, you want something solid that will sound good with your setup, something that is going to last you for a long time.
Some guitar makers never seem to get the credit they deserve. Carvin Guitars might be one of them.
They make some of the finest custom solid-body and semi-hollow guitars on the market today.
This includes the Carvin DC200, a solid-body electric that has become one of my go-to guitars these past few years.
