“The dreadnaught is king” they say. “The smaller guitar is for kids” I’ve been told. Apparently they – whoever “they” are – haven’t been keeping up with modern guitar trends…particularly parlor guitars.
A close friend called me the other day asking about beginner guitars. Apparently his oldest son, now 12, had decided that he wanted a guitar for Christmas.
“I don’t want to spend too much money” he said. “I’m afraid this is just a fad and he’ll just end up giving up on the guitar like he did with the piano.“
Although Cordoba is a relatively new guitar maker having been founded in 1997, they have made a huge splash in the classical guitar scene. They have become an excellent option for beginner classical guitarist and veterans alike, and I’ll explain why in this review of the Cordoba C5.
