One doesn’t become a great guitarist overnight–it takes hours upon hours of practice, and this is perhaps one of the reasons why many people lose the motivation to learn. It just takes too long. Sometimes you don’t feel like you’re progressing at all!

People have asked me if they are too old to learn to play guitar. It is a common concern. Many of us see learning an instrument as something that you begin when you are a child, or teenager.
At first it is a lot of fun practicing your musical skills at guitar, as you step into the unknown there are countless exercises and techniques to keep you busy for quite some time. But as you learn more and more you might find yourself going in circles, searching for new challenges. I’m not saying that you need to quit playing guitar, but there are numerous musicians who play a plethora of instruments.
